Hey all, I'm Gwen.
I started writing when I was in third grade. I can specifically remember the teacher telling me I could continue writing a story about shoe making elves instead of moving on to the next topic with the class. And then my parents got involved the summer before 5th grade, refusing to let me watch tv until I had either read 25 pages of a book or wrote 5 pages of a story.
Needless to say, I got hooked on writing. Especially fanfiction when I was younger, because hey, instant audience. And not only that, I had an audience waiting anxiously for my next chapter. I couldn't stop churning out words and finishing stories. Sorta. I take a while to finish things unless it's NaNo.
Since then, I've moved on to original work of the SF/F variety. I specialize in short stories, but have a few novels in the works as well.
I'm all about fantastic elements, be they those 50 years in the future or the secret society of elves in forests. There's just something magical about the idea of where human kind might be in the future, or what might be around us now that we can't see and touch. These are the things of dreams and I try to fulfill those ideas in my writing.
