U is for Uriel

One of the books series I read as a child that have continued to stay with me as an adult is the A Wrinkle in Time one. I will never be able to get the idea of a tesseract out of my head.

Uriel is, obviously, a planet from this series. More specifically, A Wrinkle in Time.  Uriel is the first planet the main characters travel to and it's essentially populated by centaurs. With wings as arms as the below cover shows. And unlike those from Harry Potter who are a little fierce, these guys live in a Utopian world based on light and love. And yet, despite Uriel being a wonderful place it is where the main characters learn about the encroaching darkness that they start fighting against.

  1. Great selection! I wish we knew more about the planet Uriel. It seems like such an incredible place.

  2. I never read A Wrinkle In Time. I recognize the cover because of the half horse guy on it and I was big into horses when I was younger, but I never picked it up.

  3. Hello there.
Thanks for sharing. Just making my way around the challenge.

  4. I recognise the name, but I don't think I've ever read the book. Sounds like an interesting one.

  5. Unfortunately I never read a "Wrinkle in time" I only got to see the first part of the movie and I remember loving it so much I couldn't get it out of my head (I adore stories about genius kids). But come on! a little fierce? these centaurs in HP were down right dangerous, possessed and with a huge chip on there shoulder, I mean they were so easily offended you can't even look at them without expecting a blow O_O

  6. Never read this one--but probably will this year; I'm trying to catch up on all those classics I missed out on.
