2016 Goals


So....I put together a little reading challenge for myself. Rather ambitious, but one of my resolutions this year is to manage my time more. I have this awful habit of wasting days on the Internet and not doing what I planned, saying I'll get to things but then don't.  Personally, schedules have worked for me and so in 2016 I'm going to actually schedule small amount of things every day.

20 of strength exercises.
30 min of reading novels and not random web articles.
1 hr of writing/editing. (rotating through projects)
Eat a proper meal, not just cheese and crackers.
Feedly checks.
30 min personal improvement (Khan, Duolingo)

The writing one should be the easiest, I have a running accountability partner now on the West Coast. As soon as she's off work, we'll chat and write for two hours a few days a week.

Reading will be the hardest - I didn't read as much books this year as last. Adult life and all it's complications are starting to catch up to me now that I'm done with grad school and am now pseudo working. I don't think I'll finish this challenge I dreamed up, but I do want to try. (Is there's a book from Antarctica that would need to be translated to English - maybe French research?) I love travel and I don't think I'll be doing a whole lot of that this year.

If any of you want to do this challenge too, go right ahead. We can suggest books to each other. ^_^

 Regardless, isn't that what New Year Resolutions are about? Setting goals that aren't super easy? I always feel better about an achievement when I know I had to make some sacrifices to reach it.

  1. If I read novels instead of random web articles, I'd be able to read a novel every couple of days... at least! I might have to borrow that from you.
