It's A-to-Z Challenge time! And the theme this year is science fictional planets. If you have no idea what the challenge is, click the banner to the right.
Bob is actually the nickname of New
Earth. The rest of the characters in Titan: AE didn't approve of a
planet named Bob. But Cale had such a pull the official designation
of the planet by the end was New Earth (Planet Bob).
This planet always stuck with me
because of Bob. As a kid, I found it the most hilarious name for a
planet to the point where I forced a few of my friends to watch this
with me before we had to return it. You know, when Blockbuster was
still a thing.
Strange thing is, I really can't
remember anything else about the movie other than it was an animated
SF adventure. But hey, IMDb tells me it had a pretty cool voice
cast: Matt Damon and Drew Barrymore.
Bob is a great name for a planet. I too have seen Titan AE although I did not remember this bit and I have no excuse for I have the DVD somewhere :)

It's okay, we make a match remembering different things.
DeleteBob is a great name for a planet. And when it's naughty, like having a random tsunami or earthquake, people can refer to it as Robert, so it knows it did a bad thing :-)

I totally want to do this with Earth now, but I don't know what her 'full name' would be. Terra? Gaia? Miss Terra Nova?
DeleteSeriously, are you blogging about Titan AE? I am so excited!! When they name the planet Bob at the end - I die laughing every time. Awesome post.

I am surprised at how many people know this movie. I always thought it was obscure.
DeleteI loved that movie. It never got the recognition it deserved. I think I have it on DVD or blu ray. Bob is a great name for a planet too.

I'm glad people remember Bob.
DeleteNever got to finish that movie but let's just say naming the planet Bob wasn't my cup of tea.

I would never do it personally, but my own planet I'll talk about later I probably don't have a better reason.
DeletePlanet Bob - I like it too. Thanks for stopping by at News From Nowhere, Gwen!
DeleteI haven't seen the movie but your posts inspire me to do so! You have a very interesting theme...Happy AtoZ!!
