May AYWN

I'm proud to say I accomplished all my writing goals from last month, probably because I didn't actually make any. Getting ready for my Peace Corps adventure has left little time to think about much else.

That's not to say I didn't write. I've actually been strangely productive for not setting out to be so. I've created mock covers for my WIP, did a bit of networking (in real life!), and have worked on several plot bunnies in my brain. And have also been trying to prewrite blog posts for this blog for when I'm flocking in Ethiopian sun.

So, my June AYWN goals are similar to the rest of my writing goals while I'm in the Peace Corps, write and read whenever I can.

And to help me get my hands on yummy books, I've decided to turn myself into a beta monster.

Seriously, any of you want a beta for a story, send it my way. I'll have lots of time (after I finish training in three months) and reading/editing will be a great way for both of us to get what we want (something to read/something crit'ed). My internet will be fuzzy and not always there, but my computer will be!

  1. Hey, good luck with your Peace Corps adventure. It sounds like a great thing to do and a great experience.

I'd love it if you could beta my WIP if it's not any trouble. I'm hoping to have it edited and critiqued up in three months' time. Thanks! :)

  3. Wow, Peace Corps, that is a major endeavour! I hope you enjoy the experience.

Now that you have made that offer Gwen, I think that you will bombarded with WIP's as there are quite a few of us near this point of completion!

Would you be interested in reading mine? It should be ready around the same time.

  6. It sounds like that when you let yourself off the pressure, you actually function really well and enjoy what you are doing. I hope June goes as well for you!

  7. Interesting that not having writing goals has not stopped you from achieving what would have been your writing goals if you'd had some... if you see what I mean! I'm all for targets and to do lists but sometimes they get in the way.
